What the camera specs mean in practice
3K vs 1080p. 3K (1440 × 1920) gives more detail and less compression in daylight; Android Central found it “more prone to jittering” on the Vanguard than 1080p, which is smoother. For social posts 1080p/60 is often the better mode. Field of view. 100° is a wide phone lens; 122° is closer to an action camera, and the Vanguard's centered position removes the offset that makes corner-mounted footage feel slightly off. Clip limits. 3K clips stop at 3 minutes on the Vanguard; 1080p/30 runs to 5 — see recording time limits.
Battery when you actually record
Recording is the fastest drain. Android Central's Gen 2 reviewer got about 20% per hour with nonstop music, 3K video and AI — roughly five hours — and the Vanguard reviewer noted heavy 3K recording with GPS overlays and music brings it down to the three-to-four-hour range. The case is the answer: 48 hours on the Gen 2 case, 36 on the Vanguard's, 40 on the Adventurer's (manufacturer figures).
The recording light
Every pair here blinks a white LED while capturing, the LED has no off switch, and covering it disables the camera (Meta newsroom, July 2026). If that is a problem for how you plan to use them, it is a problem with the plan, not the glasses — read are camera glasses legal first.
