The numbers that decide it
Three measurements matter for a wide head: hinge-to-hinge width (the whole front), temple length (whether the arms reach behind your ears without pressing), and lens width (a proxy for how the frame is scaled). What 6 mm feels like
The Wayfarer Large is 6 mm wider across the front and 5 mm longer in the temples than the Standard. That is the difference between a frame that presses at the temples after an hour and one that does not. A wider frame spreads the same electronics over more acetate, but the weight — about 52 g for a Gen 2, 66 g for a Vanguard — still sits on your nose. How to measure yourself
Take a pair of glasses that fits and read the numbers printed inside the temple: lens width, bridge, temple length (for example 54 □ 18 145). Match the lens width to the table above — 53 mm Large, 50 mm Standard on the Wayfarer — and the temple length to what you know does not press. If you have no pair that fits, measure temple to temple across your face just above the ears in millimeters and add about 6 mm for the frame's overhang; the fit guide walks through it.
Frames that do not come wide
The Skyler is one size and narrower than the Wayfarer; the Headliner offers bridge heights, not widths; the Scriber Optics is one size; the Meta Fury and Starfire are one size; the Meta Ray-Ban Display is one size and fitted in store; the Even G2 is a light 36 g frame in two shapes but no wide size. None of them are on this list for that reason, not because they are bad glasses.
