Smart Glasses Fit Guide for Big Heads and Wide Faces
Smart glasses have electronics in the temples, so an optician cannot bend them to fit. Size is decided once, at checkout, from numbers — yours and the frame's. This guide shows where to find both, how to match them, what to do if your face is between sizes, and which frames actually come wide.

How to size smart glasses without trying them on · 5 steps
Step 01
Read your current temple
Inside one arm of a pair that fits you: three numbers like 54 □ 18 145 — lens width, bridge width and temple length, in millimeters.
Step 02
Match the lens width
53-55 mm points to Ray-Ban Meta Wayfarer Large (53 mm lens) or Meta Adventurer Large; 50-52 mm points to Wayfarer Standard (50 mm) or Oakley HSTN (49 mm).
Step 03
Check the temple length
Wayfarer Standard 150 mm, Large 155 mm, HSTN 145 mm. If your current temples are 145 and press behind your ears, go longer.
Step 04
Check the bridge
Wayfarer 22 mm, HSTN 23 mm. A frame that slides down a flat nose bridge wants a Low-bridge fit (Headliner); one that sits low on a high bridge wants a High-bridge fit (Skyler, Headliner).

No glasses to read? Measure
With a ruler, measure across your face at the temples, just in front of the ears, in millimeters. A frame's hinge-to-hinge width should be roughly that number or a few millimeters more; Wayfarer Standard is 131, HSTN 133, Wayfarer Large 137.
Why fit is different on smart glasses
Ordinary frames get fitted after purchase: the optician heats and bends the temples, swaps nose pads, tilts the front. Smart glasses have speakers, microphones and a battery running through the temples and a fixed nose bridge, so none of that is possible on the standard Ray-Ban Meta, Oakley Meta or Meta-brand frames. The Blayzer and Scriber Optics were built to fix this — interchangeable nose pads, over-extension hinges, adjustable temple tips (Meta newsroom) — and Meta's Adventurer, Fury and Starfire borrow the temple tips and hinges but not the nose pads (Android Central). For everyone else, the numbers decide.

Between sizes
If the Wayfarer Standard is slightly tight and the Large slightly loose, three options: the Oakley HSTN at 133 mm sits exactly between them (with shorter 145 mm temples); the Meta Adventurer's adjustable temple tips let you tune how the arms grip; or a Standard with a retainer strap if the looseness is the problem. Android Central's Gen 2 reviewer describes the tight-or-sliding dilemma on a Standard; the Vanguard review describes the wrap-and-nose-guard design solving it for an active wearer.
Weight on a wide head
A frame that is slightly too narrow spreads its temples outward and presses; the heavier the glasses, the more that pressure and the more the front slides down the nose. At about 52 g (Gen 2) and 66 g (Vanguard), smart glasses are heavier than almost any sunglasses, so getting the width right matters more than it would on a 30-gram frame. The lighter alternatives — the Even G2 at 36 g, the Optics frames at 49 g — are also the ones with a fit story.
