Ray-Ban Meta Wayfarer Standard vs Large: Six Millimeters, Measured
Ray-Ban Meta glasses cannot be adjusted by an optician the way ordinary frames can, so the size you order is the size you wear. The Large is 6 mm wider across the front, 5 mm longer in the temples and 3 mm wider in the lens. Here is what that means on a face, and how to choose using a pair you already own.

What six millimeters does
The front width is what presses at the temples; the temple length is what presses behind the ears. A frame 6 mm too narrow squeezes at the sides all day and slowly slides forward as the temples push outward; a frame 6 mm too wide sits loose and slides down the nose. Android Central's Gen 2 reviewer described exactly that trade-off — choosing between “a tighter fit that hugs my head or a more natural fit that constantly slides down my nose” — and that is the situation the two sizes exist to avoid. Because the bridge is the same 22 mm on both, the Large does not change how the frame sits on your nose, only how it sits on your head.
Reading your current glasses
Inside one temple of any pair you own is a set of numbers like 54 □ 18 145: lens width, bridge, temple length in millimeters. Match the first number: 53-55 points to Large, 50-52 to Standard. Non-smart Ray-Ban Wayfarers come in 50, 52 and 54 mm; if your 54 mm Wayfarer fits, the Meta Large is your size. The fit guide covers measuring from scratch if you have no pair to read.
Is Large only for big heads?
No. Large is for the face the Standard pinches, and Standard is for the face the Large slides on. Plenty of average heads take the Large in ordinary Wayfarers because they like the bigger lens; the same is true here, with one caution — the Meta Wayfarer is already thick, and the Large's 53 mm lenses make it a big frame on a narrow face. If you are between sizes, the Oakley HSTN is one size at 133 mm — exactly between the two.
