Every spec sheet says 'up to.' This page puts each pair's rated battery next to the number a named reviewer actually measured, with the conditions, in one table — and the case capacity that decides whether a five-hour battery is a problem or a non-issue. It is the page most likely to change which pair you buy.

Why the numbers spread so far
Because the rated figure describes a light day and the measured figure describes a heavy one, and both are real. Android Central's Gen 2 reviewer was explicit: heavy use of “all the main features” ran about 20% per hour; photos and a few AI questions ran close to Meta's 12.5%. Video is the culprit — camera, image processor, Wi-Fi transfer and stabilization at once. The Vanguard review shows the same shape: a nine-hour rating, a half-marathon with room to spare, and three to four hours if you shoot 3K clips with GPS overlays all ride.
Why the case matters more than the rating
Every Meta pair recharges in its case, and the cases hold a lot: about 48 hours on Gen 2, with a 50% top-up in 20 minutes. A five-hour heavy day becomes a full day if the glasses spend twenty minutes in the case at lunch. The practical accessory is therefore a USB-C power bank to recharge the case on a trip — or a spare case — not anything that touches the glasses. Echo Frames are the exception: they charge on a stand, so there is no case to top up from.
Camera-free is a different league
The Even G2's two-day battery is what a frame with no camera and no speakers buys you; the Echo Frames' 14 hours of light use is what dropping the camera alone buys. If battery anxiety is your main objection to smart glasses, the camera-free pairs are the answer, not a bigger case.
Battery replacement
No pair on this page has a user-replaceable battery in the sources we used; the cells are sealed in the temples. Service goes through the maker. Plan on the battery, like a phone's, fading over a few years — one more reason the Gen 1's already-short battery is the reason to buy Gen 2 or an Adventurer instead.
