Xiaomi Smart Glasses: Real Product, China Only, No US Release Confirmed
Xiaomi AI Glasses are not a rumor. They launched, they have a published spec sheet, and on paper the battery embarrasses every pair sold in America. The catch is the one nobody puts in the headline: Xiaomi launched them in mainland China, has not confirmed an international release, and the assistant that makes them worth wearing runs on Chinese-language servers. This page is what is actually published about them, what an imported pair would and would not do on a US phone, and the three pairs that do the same job here today.

Meta Adventurer
Meta's own-brand rectangular frame: the same 12 MP / 3K camera and 8-hour battery as Gen 2 but with a 40-hour case, an extra action button, adjustable temple tips and a Large size — for $80 less at launch.
What Xiaomi actually announced
Xiaomi revealed the AI Glasses at its “Human x Car x Home” event on June 26, 2025 and put them on sale in China the same day. Unlike the Apple and Google situations - where there is reporting and no product - this is a shipping device with a published spec sheet, and the numbers below are Xiaomi's own as reproduced in Road to VR's launch coverage. Nothing on this page is a guess at an unannounced figure.

The battery number is real, and it is the best thing about the product
263 mAh does not sound like much until you see what Xiaomi claims it does: 8.6 hours of mixed use, 21 hours of standby, 7 hours of music playback and 45 minutes of continuous video, from a silicon-carbon cell, in a 40-gram frame that folds. Xiaomi quotes a 45-minute charge over USB-C.
For context on this site's own numbers: a Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2 is rated up to 8 hours and weighs about 52 grams, and the Gen 3 refresh pushed that to 9 hours. So Xiaomi is not performing a miracle - it is landing in the same band as Meta's current generation, a year earlier, at about two-thirds of the Gen 3's launch price, in a lighter frame. That is a genuinely competitive product, which is exactly why the availability answer is so annoying. The full rated-versus-measured picture for the pairs you can actually buy is on smart glasses battery life compared.
Why you cannot buy them, and why importing one is a bad idea
At launch, Road to VR reported that global availability was still in question and noted Xiaomi's own description of the frame as optimized for Asian face shapes - which, if it holds, works against a wide Western release rather than toward one. We could find no Xiaomi announcement of a US, EU or UK launch, and no US retail listing. Several blogs publish a “fall 2026 global” date; none of them cites Xiaomi, and at least one contradicts itself in the same article, so this page does not repeat it as fact.
Grey-market imports exist for most Xiaomi hardware, and for most Xiaomi hardware that is a reasonable thing to do. Here it is not, and the reason is software rather than customs:
- The assistant is Hyper XiaoAi. It is the whole point of the product, and it is not an English-language assistant you can sign into from Chicago.
- The signature feature pays with Alipay. Xiaomi's demo trick is looking at a QR code and paying by voice, delivered as an over-the-air update after launch. Alipay is not a US payment rail.
- There is no US warranty or returns path. On a $280 face computer with a sealed battery, that is the part that actually costs you.
- There is no US prescription path. Xiaomi sells prescription lenses through its own partners; your optician is not one of them.
What 2K and a 45-minute cap actually mean in use
Two numbers in Xiaomi's spec sheet deserve translating, because they are the ones that decide whether the footage is worth having.
2K/30 against Meta's 3K/30. Both are far above what the frame-mounted sensor can actually resolve in poor light, so the gap matters less than the numbers suggest in daylight and more than they suggest indoors. Xiaomi pairs its 12 MP sensor with an f/2.2 aperture and a 105-degree lens and quotes electronic stabilization; Meta's current pairs are 100 degrees with the stabilization introduced on the Oakley HSTN. On paper the wider Xiaomi lens is the more interesting choice for first-person video, and the lower video resolution is the price of it. Nobody has shot the two side by side, so this page will not tell you which looks better - what the sensor can and cannot do in general is covered on Meta glasses camera quality explained.
The 45-minute continuous cap is unusually generous. That is a published, single-session figure, and it is the number people assume Meta glasses have and then discover they do not. Meta caps an individual clip in the low minutes - the Oakley Meta Vanguard, the most generous pair sold here, publishes about three minutes at 3K/30 and about five at 1080p/30 - and the total video you get from a charge lands around fifty minutes of 1080p on a Gen 2-class battery, spread across many short clips. So Xiaomi is not offering more total footage; it is offering it in one unbroken take, which is a different and genuinely useful thing if you are recording a walk, a drive or a performance rather than snippets. The full set of limits on the pairs sold here is on recording time limits.
One thing Xiaomi has not published, and we will not guess at: an IP rating. Meta publishes IPX4 for Ray-Ban Meta and IP67 for the Oakley Vanguard. If a water or sweat rating matters to you, that is an open question on the Xiaomi pair rather than a silent yes.
Is there any Xiaomi eyewear you can buy in the US?
Not the AI Glasses. Xiaomi has shipped audio-only eyewear under the Mijia badge into some markets over the years, and third-party sellers list assorted Xiaomi-adjacent frames on Amazon, but none of that is the 12 MP camera pair people are searching for, and this site does not rank a listing it cannot tie to a named maker with a published spec sheet. If a camera-free audio frame is what you actually want, the field that is properly sold here is on best smart glasses without a camera and audio glasses explained.
The American version of this product, by what you liked about it
You liked the price. The Meta Adventurer is $299 - about twenty dollars over Xiaomi's clear-lens launch price - and it records 3K rather than 2K, with stabilization, a phone app, open-ear speakers, a six-mic array, Meta AI and a 40-hour folding case. It is the closest thing to a straight swap.
You liked the battery. The Ray-Ban Meta Gen 3 is the long-day pair sold here: up to nine hours per charge with another fifty in the case, which is more total runtime than Xiaomi's 8.6-hour rating even though the per-charge figures are close. It costs considerably more, and the camera is unchanged from the Gen 2 - buy it for the hours, not the pictures.
You liked the idea but not the camera. Ray-Ban Meta Audio deletes the camera entirely, runs twelve hours per charge with forty-eight more in the case, and weighs 43 grams - the closest thing in America to Xiaomi's weight-and-battery pitch, with nothing for anyone in the room to object to.
If you would rather compare the whole field before picking, the ranked list is best smart glasses, and the price ladder is on how much smart glasses cost.
What would change this page
One thing: a Xiaomi announcement with a US price and a US retailer. The moment that exists, the glasses get a product entry, a scored card and a place in the roundups like anything else - and if an English-language assistant ships with them, Meta has a real competitor at the bottom of the price ladder for the first time. Until then, a page that told you to go and buy these would be selling you a customs problem. The two other brands people ask about in the same breath are covered the same way on Apple smart glasses and Google smart glasses.

What to buy in the US instead
All three are sold on Amazon today, all three pair to a US phone with a US-language assistant, and the first of them lands within about twenty dollars of what Xiaomi charges in China.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Can you buy Xiaomi smart glasses in the US?
Not officially. Xiaomi launched the AI Glasses in mainland China on June 26, 2025 and has not confirmed an international release; we could find no US retail listing and no Xiaomi announcement of a US price. Grey-market imports exist, but the onboard Hyper XiaoAi assistant and the Alipay payment feature are built for the Chinese market, so an imported pair loses most of what makes it interesting.
How much do Xiaomi AI Glasses cost?
1,999 yuan for the clear-lens model at launch, which the launch coverage put at about $280. The electrochromic shaded version was 2,699 yuan (about $380) and the colored electrochromic version 2,999 yuan (about $420). Those are Chinese launch prices from June 2025, not a US price - no US price exists.
Do Xiaomi AI Glasses have a display?
No. They are a camera-and-audio pair with no display in the lens - the same category as Ray-Ban Meta rather than an AR product. Input is voice and touch. If a display in the lens is what you are shopping for, see best smart glasses with a display.
Are Xiaomi AI Glasses better than Ray-Ban Meta?
On published specs they trade blows: Xiaomi is lighter (40 g), cheaper and rated longer on a single charge, while Meta records at a higher resolution (3K against 2K), ships a folding charging case worth another 40 to 50 hours, and has a US assistant, a US warranty and a US prescription path. Nobody we could find has tested the two side by side, so this page compares spec sheets and says so.
What is the Xiaomi AI Glasses battery life?
Xiaomi rates the 263 mAh silicon-carbon cell at 8.6 hours of mixed use, 21 hours of standby, 7 hours of music playback and 45 minutes of continuous video recording, with a 45-minute charge over USB-C. Those are the manufacturer's figures; no independent measurement exists that we could find.
