Ray-Ban Meta Prescription Lenses: What Fits, Where to Order, What It Costs
Yes, Ray-Ban Meta glasses take a prescription — every frame, every lens type. The complications are the range (which sources quote three different ways), the fact that lenses come only through Meta or Ray-Ban, and a frame that an optician cannot adjust. Here is the whole picture, including when the Optics frames are the better home for your prescription.

Lens options with a prescription
Android Central's Gen 2 review lists clear, Blue Light Ease, sun, polarized and Transitions lenses, all available with a prescription, single-vision or progressive, in slim, thin or extra-thin. Buying from Ray-Ban directly unlocks extra Transitions colors (Amethyst, Ruby, Sapphire), the Dark Brown polarized tint, extra-thin lenses for stronger prescriptions and an “optimized” anti-reflective coating. Every lens type adds to the base price and the prescription adds a lens charge on top; we do not print prices — the retailer's configurator shows today's.
Where to order
“All styles and lens types let you add a prescription, though only through Meta or Ray-Ban directly” (Android Central). That means the standard Wayfarer, Skyler and Headliner cannot be taken to your optician for lenses; you enter the prescription and pupillary distance at checkout. Android Central notes aftermarket lens makers served Gen 1 owners and expects the same for Gen 2 — that is outside the warranty and not something we recommend for a frame with electronics in it. The Optics frames add optical retailers to the list (Meta newsroom), which is the better route for a strong prescription.
Why the frame matters as much as the range
A strong prescription needs an optician to set the frame — adjust the nose pads, bend the temples, tilt the front — and the standard Ray-Ban Meta frames cannot be adjusted because the electronics run through the temples. The Blayzer and Scriber Optics have interchangeable nose pads, over-extension hinges and optician-adjustable temple tips for exactly this reason; Android Central's advice for all-day prescription wearers is to stick with the Optics line. The Display is different
The Meta Ray-Ban Display supports -4.00 to +4.00 only, adds $200 at launch, and the lenses are fused to the display: “there's no way to swap out lenses once they've been fused with the display” (Android Central). A changed prescription means new glasses. Decide with your eye doctor whether your prescription is stable before buying.
