Range is not the whole story
A strong prescription needs an optician who can adjust the frame — bend the temples, swap the nose pads, set the pantoscopic tilt — and most smart glasses cannot be adjusted because the electronics run through the temples. That is what the Blayzer and Scriber Optics fix: interchangeable nose pads, over-extension hinges and optician-adjustable temple tips, which Meta's newsroom lists as the point of the frames. The Even G2 has always been built as glasses first. The Ray-Ban Gen 2 and Oakley HSTN take a prescription but come as they come; Android Central notes the Meta-brand frames also lack interchangeable nose pads and says “sticking with Ray-Ban Meta Optics is the best bet if you're an all-day prescription glasses wearer.”
Progressives, high index and coatings
Android Central's Gen 2 review lists single-vision and progressive options and slim, thin or extra-thin lenses, with extra-thin and an “optimized” anti-reflective coating available when buying from Ray-Ban directly. For the Optics frames Meta says only “nearly all prescriptions”; ask about progressives specifically. The Display's lenses are fused to the waveguide and cannot be replaced later (Android Central), so a prescription change means new glasses.

- Get a current prescription with the pupillary distance (PD) written on it. Online ordering needs it.
- Check your sphere and cylinder against the maker's published range — and if you are near the edge, email them with the actual numbers before paying.
- Decide the lens type (clear, Transitions, sun) at the same time; on the Display it cannot be changed later, and on the others it is a new lens cut.
- Buy from the channel that fits the lenses. Ray-Ban Meta and HSTN prescriptions come only through Meta or Ray-Ban/Oakley directly (Android Central); Optics frames add optical retailers; Echo Frames go to any optician. Camera-free frames have the most routes — audio glasses with prescription lenses lists every published range and names who cuts the lens on each.

Can I put my own lenses in Ray-Ban Meta?
Officially, prescriptions come through Meta or Ray-Ban directly (Android Central). Android Central also notes aftermarket lens makers served Gen 1; that is outside the warranty and not something we recommend for a frame with electronics in it.
